Dr. Chantal Thériault, joined the practice of Dr. Douglas Lovely & Associates in 2004, after graduating from McGill University in 2003, and completing a further General Practice Residency at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Thériault, delivers extensive training, experience and expertise in several dental specialities, with a focus in restorative, endodontics, and exodontia. Fluent in French and English, she is able to service both the English and French communities of Metro Vancouver.

Dr. Thériault is happily married and the mother of three; two beautiful little girls and one energetic little boy. An outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Thériault enjoys running, hiking, and surfing adventures to Tofino, British Columbia.

Dr. Douglas Lovely has been practicing advanced and comprehensive dentistry for 42 years as an owner/operator of a highly successful dental practice. He received his dental education at Dalhousie University and, through the years, has taught at UBC in the dental program, training and mentoring future students. He was recognized as Best Clinical Instructor.

As well, Dr. Lovely contributed as a member of the Douglas College Advisory Committee, supporting the success of the Dental Assistant Certification program and Dental Practice. For 35 years, he has actively participated in numerous Dental Study Clubs (all aspects of surgery and implant dentistry, and advancement in root canal therapy). Dr. Lovely has mentored and continues to mentor dental graduates who are fortunate enough to be accepted into his exceptional dental practice.

In addition to General Dentistry, Dr. Lovely specializes in complex procedures including implant dentistry, implant-related surgical procedures, root canals, and gum surgery. His knowledge and experience with current dental technology is ongoing.

Dr. Lovely & Associates was annually voted the #1 Dental Practice (“A-List”) by the local city community, and Dr. Lovely was recognized as Best Dentist. In 2021, Dr. Lovely sold his dental practice and joined the venture with Dr. Yoon, ensuring his long-standing patients could continue receiving care while maintaining their trust and loyalty with the new clinic.

Above all, Dr. Lovely has been and continues to be dedicated and committed to providing exceptional patient-centred service—always offering a warm, welcoming, cheerful, calm, and respectful environment for all patients. A proud graduate of the University of British Columbia (UBC), Dr. Yang brings both expertise and compassion to his practice. His calm demeanor and patient-centered approach make visits to the dentist more comfortable and positive for everyone he treats.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Yang stays active by playing a variety of sports. He’s an avid volleyball player and is currently working on his golf swing as he takes on the challenge of learning a new game.

Dr. Mae Hegagi is a compassionate and detail-oriented dentist originally from Ottawa. She completed her Bachelor of Science (BSc) at McGill University before earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.

Known for her approachable nature, Dr. Hegagi is dedicated to creating a welcoming, stress-free experience for every patient. She believes that building trust and ensuring comfort are essential to providing quality dental care. With a strong focus on comprehensive treatment, she takes the time to understand each patient’s needs and goals. Her meticulous attention to detail allows her to deliver results that are both functional and aesthetically thoughtful.

Dr. Hegagi is committed to lifelong learning and continually refines her skills to provide excellent, evidence-informed dental care. She is a member of the Vancouver and District Dental Society and the American Academy of Clear Aligners Study Club.

In her spare time, she enjoys baking new recipes and exploring local hiking trails around British Columbia.

Dr. Stephen Yoon earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of British Columbia and has since established a thriving dental practice in New Westminster and Coquitlam, located in his hometown of Greater Vancouver. With a focus on oral surgery and implantology, he has limited his practice to implants and surgical procedures. He has also pursued extensive continuing education, amassing hundreds of hours of advanced training in both implant and sedation dentistry.

A recognized key opinion leader in the field, Dr. Yoon collaborates with several leading implant companies and plays an active role with HiOssen, a globally respected implant company. Through his partnership with HiOssen, he leads residency courses that provide clinicians with both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for success in implantology and surgical dentistry. He also conducts specialized training on advanced implant topics, including sinus augmentation and immediate implant placement.

As a cofounder of the Western Implant and Surgical Excellence (WISE) Institute, Dr. Yoon is deeply committed to education, mentoring, and professional development.
